Are you buying expensive items at your grocery store just to save time? Even when toilet paper is on sale, it may not be the best price, and you’re wasting time hunting for it in the grocery store.

What if I told you that you could save time and money by automating your shopping? You could easily have these items shipped to you on a regular basis at a huge savings!

It’s no secret that Amazon is my favorite retailer. One of the reasons why I love it so much is because of the Subscribe & Save program. Most of Amazon’s Subscribe & Save items are available for cheaper prices than you can find in your grocery store, even after sale prices and coupons. Also, you can often find coupons on Amazon for your favorite items. With the click of a button, I can schedule items to arrive on my doorstep every month, even as far out as every six months. The items will arrive on a regular schedule that you set up, but you can cancel or change the delivery date at any time.

If you aren’t already using Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program, why not? It’s so easy to automate your shopping, and you’ll save time and money while you’re at it! You’ll save an extra 15% on each item if you order five or more items for that month’s subscription. If you are a member of Amazon Moms (free with a Prime membership) you’ll save an extra 20% on diapers and wipes. Best of all, the items are delivered to your door (shipping is free) so you aren’t lugging toilet paper, boxes of diapers, wipes, and coffee through the grocery store. What do you have to lose?

Here’s how to start your Subscribe & Save account today:

  1. Search for an item that you’d like to add in Amazon. You can also search the Subscribe & Save shopSearch Subscribe & Save
  2. When you find the item, select the “Subscribe & Save” price.Subscribe and Save Steps
  3. Make changes to the type of product, such as flavor, size, and packaging.
  4. Click on the coupon if there is one available.
  5. Select the quantity and frequency that you would like to order. While you can change your order any time before it ships and you can also change future orders, I recommend setting the frequency to every six months until you get the hang of ordering through Subscribe & Save and see how quickly you use the item. You can always order the item more frequently later.
  6. Click “Review Subscription.”
  7. Review your order.
  8. Confirm your item.

Once you add your first item to your subscription, you can click on the green option to add more items. If you want more than one of an item, you may want to order them separately if you need to reach five items (for example, if you need to order two boxes of the same diapers, create two subscriptions and set the quantity to “one” for each order. Amazon counts the number of subscriptions instead of the number of items when it calculates your savings.

I love the convenience of using Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program, but there are other retailers, like Target, that offer the same service. I’ve found that Amazon has the largest selection and lowest prices, though. Also, Amazon is continually adding items to their Subscribe & Save service, so check regularly if your favorite item isn’t available yet.

Do you currently use Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program? What are your favorite items? Here’s a list of my top items. In the meantime, let me know if you have any trouble setting up your account! Get started now!

I'm going to try this out, Alison. I did my daughter's back-to-school shopping all on line. Now, it 's time to move up to groceries!

I love it. I've gotten my entire extended family hooked. We buy everything from coffee to toilet paper to cough syrup. It's becoming a joke now, but it's so convenient. The catch is going overboard. My husband asked for Pop-Tarts and I ordered three boxes. I don't think we'll run out anytime soon!
